I tried to format/reload my Dell Optiplex GX110 and reload XP and got the error... "Setup was unable to format the partition. The disk may be damaged. Make sure the device is switched on and properly attached to the computer. If it is a scsi disk, make sure your scsi devices are properly terminated. Consult your computer manual or scsi adapter documentation for more info"
I am trying to reload XP and it appears to go to 100% quickly and then pops up the above error. I was able to update my bios from Dell A05 to Dell A06, but still unable to format/reload. My hard drive is a Quantum FireballP AS20.5, but Maxtor(who purchased Quantum) does not have a quality diagnostic tool, or at least I cannot find it.
I am lost on how to format/reload it.
