Formatted hard drive and lost data

Hi, I formatted my hard drive from NTFS to Fat32 without first backing up the files and now I have lost my data. I tried a free internet recovery and anything I was able to get back won't open or is blank. The hard drive on the other hand still opens with the same password that was on it before. Is there a chance of getting my data back and how do I do it? Thanks.

Recuva by Piriform is probably your best bet, there's a free and paid version. Also, if you did a quick format you have better chances of getting data back.
