Formatted hard drive how can i recover??

i have formatted a hdd with my mates pics and videos on by mistake and i was wondering how i could get them back without forking out a fortune??

Easus Partition Recovery is free for home use, as is TestDisk. I have successfully used both. If you try TesDisk, please read and understand the wiki.
