Formatted Win7 iso Usb not Booting on Windows 8

I recently got a new laptop with Windows 8 + SSD. After figuring out how to boot from a usb I tried several times but Windows 8 loaded every time.

I reformatted my iso onto my usb with Rufus with the proper methods and tried again and the same problem repeated.

How do I get my Windows 7 iso to boot from my usb on a Windows 8 device with a SSD?

Hello, first is your computer set to boot from legacy or uefi? Some bios also have locked booting. If this is enabled disable any locked booting options.

Hello... 1) First see if the Rufus OS will boot without Win7 on it, AND The USB stick is bootable... a common mistake is the USB stick must first be FORMATED FAT32 for it to work with some MB BIO's. Also try an USB2 stick VS an USB3 stick for this purpose.
2) You must first Format/extract the ISO file into useable data... Right click the ISO file in Windows ( for the option ) OR you may have to use this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool USB/DVD tool... Depending on the ISO file type you have downloaded to do this.
3) Try burning the ISO file to a DVD, to determine if your ISO File is Good and BOOTs the install program.
4) Windows 8 and UEFI could be using a security measure to not allow another OS/program to be installed/Booted from your USB slot.

been a few people saying the latest version of rufus hasnt worked

Microsoft are providing an excellent tool to make Windows 7 bootable installation USB. With all my respect to fellow programmers, I am wondering why third-party tool is offered...

To the OP: Make sure your BIOS is set up to book off USB - after you prepare the USB disk, plug it in, and enter the BIOS. You should be able to see it in the list of bootable options.

Check your bios for the secure boot and fast boot option. Disable those, save changes and reboot

Enter your bios once again and set your USB priority to the first slot. Once again save and reboot

I think my problem now is I cannot disable secureboot which I think will solve the issue.

I've tried setting up passwords but nothing I do will un-gray out the option to disabe/enable secureboot.

Well earlier I posted something today that you should try

Make sure your usb is still connected before you enter the bios.
Under the boot tab, enable "launch csm"
Under the advanced tab, select usb configuration, and enable legacy usb support
Disable secure boot
Save settings and reboot

Set your bios to default settings, save it and reboot into the bios and maybe you could disable secure boot or fast boot because it worked for me when I tried booting from a usb

Edit: I remember disabling fast boot or secure boot with the bios default settings, and when I rebooted, the launch csm wasn't greyed out anymore.

What I've done:

• 
  boot from usb [FAILED]
  
  disable fast boot [SUCCESS but no boot]
  
  change boot order/disable any other boots from boot priorities (other than usb) [FAILED]
  
  set password for ever security option including: administrator, user, HDD passwords. [SUCCESS but can't disable secureboot]
  
  In Win8 click restart and hold shift --> "use a device" --> select usb [FAILED]
  
  In Win8 click restart and hold shift --> "troubleshoot" --> "advanced options" --> "UEFI firmware settings" --> restart [FAIL, simply just booted normally or took me to the bios]

@Reyaz My bios is different from everyone who has given similar solutions so its highly possible mine is different from yours as well.
I can disable fast boot but nothing will allow me to disable secureboot.

Either I need to create/delete/edit some keys or I need to disable secureboot. I already know this. I just don't know how to do either.

I believe that is a different bios. I haven't managed to disable/change legacy mode.

I do appreciate the help but its like you aren't reading the above comments.

I can not disable secure boot or change UEIF/legacy modes from the bios. I've already tried. I feel like there are settings that need to be changed, keys need to be changed in the bios, or settings in win8 need to be changed.

Really need an answer if someone can help me.

May not be what you are looking for, but at this point you will need to boot windows 7 from a CD with the burned iso image onto. Usbs don't sound like its worth all the trouble if secure boot will remain greyed out.

USBs created with the Microsoft tool show up as "Secure", with UEFI extensions enabled.
