Formatting 250GB WD HDD - takes a long time

I got a used WD HDD 250GB from a friend. I have run CHKDSK and found no bad sectors. However, formatting it from DOS is taking a unusually long time. I am using quick format.
Any solutions?

Hi there Atis Mandal,

You can start with simply reseating the drive. Changing the SATA port as well as the cables will not hurt as well.
If the issue persist, I would advise you to test the drive with WD's Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool.
