when I tried to plug the USB stick windows would not recognize it.
so, I found a program called TestDisk, has no interface, all works through command line. I selected my USB stick and erased all data inside it. I plugged the stick again and now my windows is recognizing it as D:\ but I can't format, windows says that it can't finish the process. I downloaded IM-magic partition resizer and it says that the USB stick's memory is unallocated, but when I try to format it says: no partition table found in this device
than, I download HP USB disk storage format tool, it detects the usb stick and says: Kingston DT 100 G2 PMAP (what is PMAP anyway??)
when I try to format using HP usb disk, it says: device media is write-protected.
so, I went to my USB stick properties to change this, but guess what: since the drive isn't formatted, I can't change any security thing...
what can I do? any suggestion? buying another is a dead end, I have this USB stick for several years, is like family now LOL
