[SOLVED] Formatting and partitioning an 8TB,10TB,12TB,14,TB,18TB,20TB or larger size drive.

Just thought, since I had never had a larger size drive than 2TB and I'm about to do some formatting and partitioning on a much larger drive that I should know if there is anything one should know before attempting such action.

One thing that comes to mind is it possible to make one large partition that fills the entire drive?

Or does one have to make smaller partitions because of some limitations that still exist?

Witch file system is best for larger one partition drives if that is possible?

And like usual can this be done with Windows's disk manager?

Yes. The drive has to be partitioned in GPT for this to be possible.

No. With MBR partitioning you simply can't use capacity past 2TB.

Depends on OS being used.
For windows use NTFS
And like usual can this be done with Windows's disk manager?
Yes.
