I am gonna say it will also run on my Samsung Galaxy S5 since PUBG ran fine on it which surprised me big time being that the game is not known to be hardware friendly on the PC. Then again I only played it for like 30 minutes before getting bored with it and uninstalling it from my phone.

Fortnite requires 3 GB or more RAM, so maybe Epic omitted the Galaxy S5 because it has both 3 and 2 GB RAM variants. (Only the LTE-A ones have 3 GB.)
Including all the details and exceptions for every phone model with both compatible and uncompatible variants would have bloated the announcement unnecessarily. Instead they added the minimum requirements in the end and stated that other phones meeting them "may work".
