Forza Horizon 3 PC download breaking my PC

So i bought forza horizon 3, and when i try downloading it everything goes to hell. When I start the download everything is normal but then it suddenly starts slowing down my pc. even trying to open chrome takes 30 seconds to a minute. i finally had it downloaded but when i started playing the opening race, i was getting 1-2fps no matter what settings.

gtx 970
16gb ram

Sounds like either a disk usage or thermal throttling issue. Check both temps and disk usage while playing, and also check memory (make sure its registering 16gb)

Thanks, i got it running again and the disk usage seemed to be at 100%. any ideas on possible fixes would be great. anyway thanks for the response
