Forza Horizon alternative for the PCMasterRace

OK, I've been looking for ages, and cannot find a good game that's like it. The Crew was a horrid game with said bad handling, AI, etc. Burnout Paradise is too old and seems to also not have the greatest reviews. Grid Autosport seems to be hated on, and isn't open world. Everything else after that is all too arcade or too simulator, like Project Cars or Dirt Rally. Would would you guys suggest?

I'm looking for the same.
Forza on xbx is SO good, but I just can't justify getting an Xbx one to play Forza once a week.

Bought project cars, and while it looks great and can actually be a very fun game, it suffers from a terrible control setup, and some bizarre handling that make it largely unplayable.

I've seen that, and I can't muster paying $80 for a no force feedback wheel for one game. I think I'll put it off, cause I don't want to waste on a controller, because a controller is rly only useful in racing, but a wheel is much better. Even though I've never driven a car in my entire life, which may spice things up. So I don't want to get that. And seeing a vague response from the devs, not sure.

I don't play a lot of games, but GTA for example is great with a controller for general duties, with a mouse/kb great for accurate shooting.

Project Cars was so close to being the best PC racing game, but those fundamental control and physics issues just ruined it. I can drift any car in any game, I can drift a car IRL, I can even drift a motorbike. The smallest drift in Cars always ends in an over rotation you can't recover from, spitting you straight into the apex side barrier, or a ridiculous over correction spitting you wide into the barrier.
The mechanical grip aspect just feel so fake and arcade-like especially at low speed, but then over-realistic with zero room for error at any other speed. Don't even bother pirating it.

I look at GTA like the all rounder. Has everything decent. Though I can't get it cause my parents are liek NO GUNS NO VIOLENCE. Well I still play that Far Cry 4 game from my Samsung SSD and they don't even know it. Just started. Anyways, project cars rly peaked my interest, but what I want isn't a simulator nor an arcade game. Why can't devs understand and make a good combo THATS ALSO OPEN WORLD! Rages me that literally SO MANY PPL want a Forza Horizon 2 look-alike that's ACTUALLY DECENT (looking at u The Crew 🙁 ), and nobody makes one. Saddens me that ppl either want NFS or realism. Oh, PC is rly only for literally EVERY other game. Truth is, console makers are very smart. They know that theyre Forza series are top notch, especially their Horizon, and make it a flagship exclusive.

Now we all hope that Windows 10 allows Xbox games to be purchased on Windows directly without streaming. Cause who wouldn't want that? BTW there's a petition with more than 10,000 ppl wanting Forza Horizon on PC.

Can't rely on that cause that requires parents. I've also never owned a console, my first gaming "machine" is this PC when im 13. Go figure. I dont want forza motorsport, I just want relaxing Forza Horizon. That's it. All I want is to cruise in a lambo around a cool looking city. It doesn't have to look like any other city. It'd be nice, but I just want a good looking city. Also the Crew's horrid at the map too. Combine Project Cars and Asseto Corsa's driving with a company known for making good maps and Crytek and know you have the best racing game to exist.
