Hi all

I've currently got a single gtx 780 and a 1440p monitor.

Now that the 980 has come out, I can get a gigabyte ghz edition 780 for £230. This is in comparison to the ~£460 of the 980.

I can't imagine the 780 price is going to stay this low, so I was wondering if you guys thought I should get it or wait for a few months and get a 980?

Solution
Getting a 2nd 780 will generally be the least cost / most performance option .... and if anything the 780 will continue dropping.

The 980 is like 20% faster than the 780
Two 780s are about 65% faster than a 780

The 970 is also ~£230.
OK cool. So the other thing I want to double check is that my current 780 is the reference card. Is there going to be an issue pairing that with the gigabyte ghz edition card?

I would happily get a different one, the problem is the ghz edition is the only one which has seen this large price decrease

Ok cool thanks. I was only thinking of getting the ghz edition because it was the cheapest one. I would personally prefer another reference card, but they are all ~£400
