so school just got out, (Yay.)

I was at home today and I seemed to stumble upon my family's jvc gr-dvl320u ultra digital camcorder from 2001. it has not been used for awhile because were lazy. I wanted to try to make some vlogs with this piece of retro tech. battery's probably shot or dead and if it's shot I don't want to waste savings on a new battery. And JVC discontinued this model.

any way to get this puppy out of retirement?

Solution
It is unlikely the battery will hold a charge for very long (if at all). But by using the ac adapter, you could at least see if the camcorder still works. There are online companies that sell old/odd batteries, and often at a low price. You could search by the model # of the camcorder or the battery itself.
