So a friend of mine was having trouble with his laptop and couple of nights ago just before the winter storm hit put his computer in the back seat of my car. Unfortunately, the windows wasn't all the way up and some snow/ice got in and when I went to pick it up, I found the snow and ice on it. Right now, I'm just wanting an assessment of any possibly permanent damage as well as steps I can take to minimize any.

Aye, I've already done that much and was gonna wait until at least monday to boot it up. Fortunately it's just water and from what I've read, as long as it wasn't sugary, i shouldn't have to worry about corrosion and I assume that is correct. What's the likelyhood of their being permanent damage? I know you can't give me an exact answer over the computer without looking at it of course, but from what you heard, I was just curious?

'just water' should be fine.
Probability of working is somewhere between 0 and 100%.
