[SOLVED] Found out motherboard I had been using for 1 year had a defect

I was told by support that my motherboard had a manufacturing defect where my ram would not work properly. What should I do? Can I build a new pc with same parts but with a different motherboard? Will all my files be saved if its on the hard drive?

It all depends how old is your board, and what new board you're looking at. If you can find a board with same CPU and RAM sockets, you can move these parts over. Most probably, you will have to reinstall Windows, applications etc.
