My pc used to turn black after a few minutes of usage, so I tried a system restore. It completed successfully but when it restarted it gave me the CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED error message. I've been trying to troubleshoot and I've found the root cause to the error. It goes as follows:

Root cause found:

Unknown bugcheck: Bugcheck ef. Parameters = 0xffffe000e4902080, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0.

Thanks, Ian.

It sounds like you've found the root cause to your rebooting issue but upon reading the body of your post it looks like you're looking for someone to tell you what the bugcheck means. So erm are you looking for assistance? If so can you please pass on your full systems specs? If you can get into your OS without much complications then try a repair install though I think a reinstall will solve your issue.

Is this installation of Windows 10 via the free upgrade path or a new? It'd be a good idea if you had a bootable USB installer at hand.

Sorry for not wording the post correctly, I need help on how to resolve the bootloop/error message. I was hoping that the root cause would help to solve it. My system specs are:

AMD Fx-4300
Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 Motherboard
Nvidia Gtx 760
8 GB ddr3 corsair vengeance ram
Seagate 1TB expansion drive
Seagate 7200 rpm 1Tb HDD

I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 back in August without any issues. (and I cannot go back to the desktop, I opened cmd then notepad from troubleshooting options.

Thanks
