FOXCONN G31MX 4GB RAM Only 3.5GB Usable

I Have a FOXCONN G31MX Mobo and i have only 1GB Ram on it and.. Yes ik it suck so i'm trying to get a (2x2GB) RAM Because i've been looking for the Mobo info and i realized the mobo can only take 4GB ram maximum so.. i wanted to give it a try..! if it's gonna work or not.. i took My Dad's PC's Rams they're 2x2GB DDR2 i guess.. and i installed them and the PC turned ON! yes! BUT !!! Unluckily.. always.. unlucky.. it says 3.50GB usable or something like that.. And YES Ik that 32-bit os takes less than 4GB i have Windows 8.1 PRO 64 bit and sadly it only takes freaking 3.50GB of Ram.. idk if it's the mobo or the OS or the BIOS or whatever.. hope i get the answer..

That is normal. The OS itself takes up some of the memory. And Win will set aside a huge chunk of memory for a video buffer. Its size will depend on how much VRAM the gfx card has. If you have no discrete card, Win uses some of its system memory for video memory.

My best guess is that.. i think that it's how much Mhz The ram holds
cuz when i installed 2 different ram stick, 1 stick is 1GB ram idk how many MHz it is, and the other stick is 2GB 800Mhz
and it was using the whole 3GB Ram
but after a while i installed 2 stick (2x2GB Ram) idk how many MHz each one of them has

I have Foxconn G31-MXP. I installed two DDR2 memory modules with 4Gb total RAM. In BIOS i see 4096Mb memory but Windows show me only 3.25Gb memory available.
What is recommended to do in this type of cases:
In BIOS settings:
HPET Support must be Enabled
HPET Mode must be 64-bit mode
Memory Hole must be Disabled
Memory Remap Feature must be Enable
In Windows:
Start => Type msconfig in search field => Boot tab => Advanced Options button => Uncheck "Maximum memory" => OK several times => Reboot Computer

Update motherboard BIOS.

In my case with Foxconn G31-MXP i enabled HPET Support and selected 64-bit mode. But it didn't help. Problem was in BIOS version which was P07. It have a bug. I just updated it to P08 version and now in Windows i have all 4Gb memory!

Foxconnchannel site with drivers and bios now are down so you need to download bios in other place. I downloaded it from Softpedia. You must to make USB DOS boot device and unpack BIOS archive to it.
