FPS Differences in Full Screen VS. Borderless/Windowed

Title. To me the weird thing is that in some games (for an example I recently re downloaded Minecraft to test) my FPS is better in windowed mode and in other games (LoL) I run better in full screen.

Minecraft:
Windowed = ~300 FPS
Full Screen = 60 FPS (doesn't move, it's as if it's locked)

League of Legends:
Borderless (basically windowed mode) = 60 FPS (as if it's locked)
Full Screen = 200-400 FPS

As you can see, the results are swapped which surprises me.
The other day I was watching a League streamer and saw that his framerates are higher than mine, even though I've confirmed that I have better specs than him. He does everything in borderless as well since that's the only method of streaming.

NOTE: Vsync is off in the Nvidia control panel as well as the games! I also have a G-Sync monitor and use G-Sync.

Windowed mode is _significantly_ harder on the system than full screen.

In minecraft's case, there obviously is something somewhere limiting it. Probably an actual framelimit - I believe minecraft has one, so that you can make sure your system doesn't overheat.

One thing I noticed, all the games you're mentioning are relatively simple to run. I wouldn't worry about what someone else is getting in league, as long as you're getting performance you're happy with.

Remember that if you're pumping significantly more frames than your screen can use, all you're doing is wasting energy, producing heat pointlessly, stressing your parts, and increasing the amount of tearing you see.

Bumparino! I want to play League on borderless mode to stream yet I would want high FPS (otherwise I feel ripped off 😛). I know that I have better hardware then a League streamer, but he has more frames than me. Any reason why?
