FPS drop on PC not sure why

HI I recently upgraded my pc but its beginning to seem more like a downgrade as I have lost frame rate on a lot of games by at least 40 FPS I'm not sure what the issue is as I am fairly new building pc's and I'm not sure if I could have done something wrong or possibly my drivers are incorrect any help is very appreciated !

Setup:
Asus m5a97 LE r2.0 Motherboard
AMD FX- 8350 eight-core processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
EVGA 500B Power supply

AMD FX- 8350 eight-core processor

1tb Hd

My previous specs were
AsRock FM2A55M-VG3+ Motherboard
AMD ATHLON X4 760K QUAD CORE processor
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960
EVGA 500B Power supply
16 gb of ram
Windows 10
1tb Hd

There can be a couple of reasons for a FPS drop this could be down to a background task taking up CPU usage or indeed the incorrect drivers. Even though you haven't changed your graphics card I would start by dowloading the drivers again as this would be a good starting point for eliminating problems
