Hi everyone,

Im having a strange problem connecting my laptop MSI Leopard GL75 with a RTX 2070 to a external monitor (Acer Nitro VG240Y). Im my laptop i see the 144 fps without any problem. However, i can't see them in the external monitor. The weird part is that both testufo , fps counter from the game (valorant) and msi afterburnner marks 144 fps, but i don't see them in my monitor (i dont know exactly how many i see because the counter says 144, but probably about 50-60 fps).

I used this configuration with a mini display port since one year ago. I dont know what is happening now.

I have tried with a HDMI too, with the same result...

I have check refresh rate, i have updated all the drivers, restored the system to a old version from a month ago and nothing have worked..

Any idea?

Thank you!!

Hi there,

Presumably you have Freesync/G-sync activated on the monitor and in Nvidia Settings?

Mini DP to DP as long as it's at least 1.2 should work flawlessly with your monitor, so even if there were lower FPS, it's syncing with your GPU. Are you sure it's not just some in game setting, or global setting you may have changed? Maybe reset everything to default, or better, just to a clean install of the driver, and see if it fixes the issue.
