fps drops after gpu reinstall

hello guys hopefully you can help me out! recently i bought a better graphics card for my computer but turns out my pc isn't quite good enough to support it which is fine. I reinstalled my old gpu back into my pc and now games don't work right at all. my gpu will be overheating and ill get major fps drops and freezing in games. before i started switching things around everything worked perfectly. if you need more detail please let me know!

Use DDU to uninstall drivers.

Reinstall correct drivers.

Tried it and didn't work unfortunately 🙁 forgot to mention that my hard drive is also pinned when the fps drops and freezing happens
