Hi,

Whenever I play any game, I notice fps drops below 60 randomly here and there (the game doesnt freeze/stutter though) if I keep the V-Sync on. When I turn off V-Sync my fps is 80-82. The problem is that my monitor is 1080p 60 Hz without any inbuilt Frame Sync capabilities and I am forced to turn on V-Sync otherwise the game appears so jittery even with high fps. But if I turn it off I face the problem which I mentioned above. Is there anyway to fix it ?

System Specs :
CPU : Intel Core i5 8400
MoBo : Gigabyte Z370 HD30P
GPU : Zotac Geforce RTX 2070 Super AMP
RAM : 2x Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000 MHz 8 GB
PSU : CoolerMaster MWE Bronze 80+ v2 650W

This is why it sucks to game on a non-gaming monitor.

Your options are to upgrade your GPU (so that you have enough GPU horsepower with V-sync on), turn down graphical settings enough so that you never get frame drops, or upgrade to a gaming monitor that is G-sync compatible.

Obviously, a gaming monitor is by far the overall best solution and there are many out there available for a reasonable price. If you were to purchase a 1080p G-Sync monitor, you wouldn't need V-Sync anymore and you'd get tear-free 80 fps most of the time with the game you mentioned.
Use adaptive vsync setting instead.

Hi,

Thanks for reply. I have upgraded from GTX 1060 to RTX 2070 Super AMP (Factory OC), but still lose frames in cities. That GPU is enough to run RDR2 at Balanced settings (High-Ultra) 1440p 60 FPS. However I keep losing frames even though its set to low-medium settings..
