I've recently installed a new CPU cooler, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, and ever since then, my frames drop drastically when doing anything on the computer. It'll go from a solid 60 fps down to about 10 or 5, and its extremely frustrating.

Specs:
CPU: Intel i7 2600K SC
OS: Windows 7 64bit
RAM: 8GB DDR3
MoBo: Asus p8z68-v Pro
PSU: Corsair 750w
GPU: Nvidia GTX 680

My gpu should be able to run everything i play without any problems (League of Legends, Hearthstone, etc..) but I end up getting massive frame drops and the computer is only about 18 months old.

The cooler is not working correctly.
Was the CPU surface clean before apply new thermal paste?
Is the cooler fan fitted in the right direction?
Has the heat sink been screwed down to make a good connection?
Is the cooler fan spinning up?
