Hi guys,

I've been dealing with this problem for probably 3 months already. When I play GTA V, BF4, COD BO2, and other games like that, after approximately 1 hour of playing, I get these huge FPS drops. From 140 to 10 in COD, from 80 to 5 in GTA V, from 100 to 15 in BF4 for like 15 seconds and then it gets back to it's average value.

My PC is kind of old, but still high-end. I dont struggle with running these games on Ultra settings with bad FPS.

AMD FX-8300 16 GB RAM AMD RX 590 8GB

NOTE: These drops don't happen in CS:GO. NOTE2: I've tried reinstalling Windows and it didn't work.

Here is a link to my video. It happens at 1:00. You can also see my afterburner overlay in the corner.

Thank you for any help from you.

Solution
I noticed the cpu usage spiked into the 90%s briefly, when the lagging occurred.

Unfortunately, many applications don't read the FX cpus correctly. In the video, when the usage spiked into the 90s the temperature also went 'down'.
I'm willing to bet it actually went up. There may be thermal throttling present.
You will need to check cpu thermals again with AMD Overdrive: https://www.techspot.com/downloads/4645-amd-overdrive.html
