so ive had this system for quite some time and it started dropping frames i did alot of searching for a solution.. malware removal, virus removal, new cooling paste, cleaning the fans, checking the heat in and out of games and they never went above 55*c, then i thought it was the GPU and got a new one, still have the same problem though, then i got new rams but that didnt help either
i did the checkups on cpu-z and cant find the problem, tried unparking my cores, also didnt help
i did the msconfig, i checked the taskmaster ingame nothing was showed any red lights.

i have windows 8

system
Cpu: AMD fx6300
Gpu: msi gtx 960 gaming 2 gb
Motherboard: msi 970 gaming
Ram: 2x4gb corsair
Psu: corsair cx 750

i hope you can help me :) thx in advance

Solution
It doesn't have to be the CPU temp, most of the times it's the VRMs temps that get too high and cause throttling, the default fan blows air downwards towards the VRM's if your new cooler doesn't blow any air downwards than that's probably the explanation.

Heya, I'm guessing you mean you're dropping frames when playing video games? if you are, the first thing I'd do is allocate more RAM to the game/application. If you are dropping frames or experiencing lag in general, can you post a reply to this explaining what happens in more detail? usually the things you have tried, work. Also if allocating more RAM doesn't help, give me a shout and I'll try an help some more

Hi, to be brutaly honest, I'm stumped. I would say it was your cpu since you said its a general problem but your cpu is good quality and the temperature seems fine you say (?) can you post the temperature your pc is at idle and under load stages? Also, at this point I'm sure you won't mind doing anything[ish] :D You could try installing windows 10, or other version of windows but obviously windows 10 is the way forward, the only reason I suggest this, is because windows 10 as an OS is faster and for modern day PCs like yours, it is built for beefy applications. Also your specs seem way too high to be lagging windows explorer!!! so if you are prepared to install a new operating system, try that. If that doesn't work at least you will have windows 10!! also message back if you can't or have reinstalled windows 10 and nothing changed. Ill try to keep helping you. (Btw if you didn't already know, when you reinstall a new OS you will keep all of your old files, HDD data, everything! so don't panic, but hey I think you already know that right? :p)

Try AMD Overdrive to monitor the temps of the cpu,the closer to the thermal margin the worse.Looking at what you say about temps might htis be the issue. Also might be the cpu bottlenecking in general in certain area's of the game.

No aftermarket cooler in use? Might be a solution.
