Hey guys. Everytime i open a stream on twitch.tv/hitbox.tv w/e i get fps drops if im playing a league of legends game, a counter strike etc. Everytime i alt tab to watch it, but if i have the stream running in the background i get fps drops? why?
When i had 8 GB ram, i didnt lag as much as i do with 16 GB. I used to have a second monitor too but i thought using another monitor would overheat my computer.

I have:
Windows 7
16 GB ddr3 ram memory
Nvidia Geforce GTX 680
Intel Core i7-4770k @3.50 GHz
Samsung SSD 840 evo

Solution
1) 16GB should never feel worse than 8GB. Either that's not really an issue or you have a problem with your memory installation:

a) update motherboard BIOS if newer exists
b) select FACTORY DEFAULTS (not needed if you update the BIOS), then
c) select "XMP"
d) confirm your memory and CPU Turbo frequency looks correct (i.e. 1600Mhz? and 3.9GHz for CPU). Don't overclock right now.
e) confirm your memory sticks are in the proper slots (if all four it's fine. otherwise two sticks may be #2 and #4 but see motherboard manual)
f) run MEMTEST (confirm 16GB or 16,384MB is available in Memtest)
g) start Windows then Task Manager-> Performance-> Memory and verify almost 16GB listed on top-right of graph.
*"In use" and "Available" should also add...

*"In use" and "Available" should also add up to almost 16GB, and your SPEED (i.e. 1600MHz) should also be listed in this section

2) LAG:
As said it's because either the CPU or GPU is being used.

*Not sure how you have TWITCH setup but I use NVidia Shadowplay and it's a very small hit (5% at most for me) so I never really notice. Shadowplay uses the NVENC hardware encoder on the GTX680 however if TWITCH is setup to use your CPU instead that can cause a bigger drop.

3) MONITOR:
This isn't a problem. You'll use some of your video memory (not sure how much) but there's no heating issue. Most graphics cards run at full load much of the time anyway.
