FPS drops on HD7750

Hey guys

I recently bought a Hd7750 for my system, my first amd card. My specs are:

intel core2duo 2,93ghz
4gb ddr-2 ram

Now the thing is i have noticed in some games , my fps drops from a high value to quite low value. Also my gpu usage decreases in this case.

For example, in the recent tomb raider game, i am able to get 50-60 fps easily at high settings, even the benchmark shows min fps=52,max fps=63..

Howevere my fps drops to about 20-24 when areas with lots of trees and huge environments show up and the worst part is that even dropping the graphic setings doesnt seem to help much.Also, this game has decent system requirements and isnt one of heavily demanding games..

Assasins creed 3 is almost unplayable when i reach boston area. I remember being able to play AC revelations and brothehood with quite ease on my 9800GT...I even played max payne 3 at medium settings with my 9800GT smoothly..


So my question being what is wrong here? I know my rig is quite oudated, even the cpu might bottleneck but such massive fps drop shudnt be there according to me..moreover, i play on low resolution 1360x768. Is the graphic card that bad?As far as i remember, i never had such massive fps drops with my 9800GT and Hd7750 is certainly better than it and even lower power consuming that 9800GT

Could someone please explain and help me diagnose my problem?

Also if someone could help me with some tweaks that i could use with radeon pro tool to get better performance without sacrificing too much of quality..

well so far i have tried far cry 3...i get 25-60 fps on medium settings.. also i have the latest driver 13.1 stable version..is 13.2 beta better optimized? My main problem is the heavy fps drop at certain points to about like 20..

Also do you have any tips for optimizing performance with radeon pro? I notice you also have the same card. How is your performance with the card? we could compare

Hmm that low fps i get 45fps at very high in crysis 3(AA to off).use 13.2 beta driver(important)

Update your mobo's bios and turn off the vsync and motion blur in games

well havnt tried crysis 3 yet..yh i do turn vsync off..as well as motion blur..

Bdw do u get 45 constant fps, and how much does it drop in intense fight scenes?

and well yh my lowest fps on far cry 3 is 28 in heavy foliage and fight scenes..

Have u tried assasins creed 3, that game is totally unplayable..

i will also give 13.2 beta 7 drivers a go and see the difference

Crysis 3 is min 35fps while 45avg.far cry is 50fps avg and lowest at fight region is 37fps. May due to my cpu as it is litle faster than yours. There is a driver issue in your pc.

What settings do you use for far cry 3? Can you please give me the exact settings? Also what should i do to remove this massive fps drop issue?

have you tried most wanted 2012 m8? Well when i max d settings..i do get fps drops in the cities as well as while turning.. I mean its smooth but still fps drops are there..

Yes it not well optimized game at all.i also face it like 50fps to 35-40fps after 5min gameplay.better play nfs the run-best nfs game ever

In farcry 3 turn off the AA,vsync and set water setting to medium and rest all to high at 1366*768res

well i will try nfs run tomorrow..i think i have it somewhere in the hard drive.. well somehow finished far cry today..min fps 25 while max fps upto 60,textures high rest medium settings..

Im facing far too many fps drops in tomb raider too...drops to nearly 20 in huge areas and environments at high settings

I did install the beta drivers too..havnt noticed that much of a difference
