When im playing games and move my mouse i get large fps drops to 300 to like 20, i did some research and found stij.exe could be a cause and people say you go task manager and go to the file location and delete it but i cant find it.

Solution
Lol. I see a lot of guys like that. Many times though it's simply a cultural barrier, kinda like the old English and proper manners had issues with 'barbarians'. What's socially accepted where he is from is guaranteed to be different from where I'm from.

What you can do is open up a CMD window with administrator rights, and type in sfc /scannow which will check/repair any windows system files that might be corrupted and I'd also run chkdsk to fix any other files that the Adobe might have messed up.

I'd also run CCleaner from piriform.com to clean out any other junk, internet cache etc and use the registry tool to clean up the registry and get rid of any orphans that might be causing you problems.

It's a routine I do...

well the problem is that my fps drops dramatically when i move my mouse in game

File name: stij.exe
Publisher: Perion Network Ltd.
File Location Windows XP: C:\Windows\System32\jmdp\stij.exe
File Location Windows 7: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\jmdp\stij.exe
Startup file: SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services 'IBUpdaterService' (Updater Service)

It's malware, usually attached to info bars on your web browser. You've downloaded/installed another program, and this was attached. While any decent malware remover can get rid of it, chances are good that the host program will keep reinstalling it, so go through add/remove programs and get rid of any web Helper type stuff or other useless programs.

I've checked all those files locations and nothing comes up and there isnt anything in my task manager, however i do have the affects of the virus, could it be anything else other than stij?

Yep, sure can. Ppl who write malware aren't stupid. They'll throw a couple of obvious files at you and one sneaky file. You get rid of the obvious and leave the sneaky there and quit looking for it. They especially like hijacking other programs and having malware sit dormant until the host program is used, you'll get infected, bypassing the internet download check. You finally get rid of the malware only to get reinfected every time you use the host. Malicious software is a royal pain to fully get rid of because most of the names are hidden by other files. It'll be called video.sys or other such important sounding name you'd not think was malware.

Only thing I can suggest is run malwarebytes with rootkit enabled, followed by Hitman Pro followed by Spybot: Search and Destroy.

All 3 are good, but relying on just 1 isn't good, they can only remove what ppl have sent to them in reports, so will not pick up on something new. By using all 3, hopefully at least one has had a report and will check for it.

just wondering how long will it take to use all of them, like more than 3 hours?

Really, this is the attitude you take for your online security? You must like your credit card, id info stolen. Trying fixing the mess from that in 3 hours... NOT HAPPENING!!

You need to take this SERIOUSLY and 3 hours is annoying but it may not even be enough. If it has been doing stuff to your PC for months, you may want to seriously consider re-installing the OS, since I'm pretty sure you have been too lazy and impatient to even have prepared backup image/clone of your system.

i was just asking i dont mind how long it takes, i didnt expect this from just a question, ive spent over 5 months trying to fix some stuff with my computer, working out if its hardware or software and debugging everything and returning parts and installing a new operating system and researching stuff so i would rather you stop judging me tbh, ok? if u wanna help sure but if ur just gonna talk * then id rather u leave

well since the advice u gave me ive done a clean of pc, getting rid of the dust in the fans and cooler (no change apart from lower cpu temps) , tried another mouse (which didn't work) used the 3 anti malware programs and also a clean boot. After another restart i seemed to get a lot smoother and higher fps on the games when moving my mouse on games i tried to run before and a lot of lag on the desktop has gone so something seems to have happened.
when using malwarebyte it removed one threat called "ADOBE_FLASH_SETUP_1238190034.EXE"
which was apparently a virus when i looked it up so could be the cause
If it goes back to being laggy i guess ill report back on the thread
Thanks for the advice and programs :)

also sorry if i seemed a bit stupid about asking that question and that guy idk
