FPS drops with ASUS GTX 970 strix

Hey guys so i was just wondering about a thing i have a GTX 970 Strix and i get fps drops sometimes when i play BF4 for example it can start at 80 fps but then drop down to 58 it will slowely shrink down but then go up agian and i was just wondering why this is happening the card is not too hot neither is the cpu or the mobo i tried overclocking my cpu a while ago and it says overclocking failed even do i did not see any damadge on the mobo or the cpu and i just got this ASUS GTX 970 strix and i ned help my specs:
CPU:i53570k
GPU: ASUS GTX 970 STRIX
MOBO: ASUS P8Z77V LX
PSU: Corsair TX650 watt
 
Solution
The gtx 970 can only use 3.5 GB vram. Some users are experiencing colour distortions and stuttering past 3.2 GB vram usage. This is probably what is happening to you. Nothing much you can do except complain in the forums about being mislead regarding 4gb of vram by the nvidia marketing team.
