Specs:
NVIDIA 1050 TI OC
I5-4460 3.2 GHz
400 W PSU
8 GB RAM

I upgraded a desktop I had simply inputting the graphics card and 400 W PSU I figured with the i5 processor and 8gb of ram I should be able to at least run close to 100 fps or at the absolute least 60 consistent frames on a game like "Fortnite" but no it drops to 14 fps for a split second from time to time and idk why. I've updated my NVidia drivers, made it choose performance over quality and nothing. I can run 120 fps somewhat consistently in creative, but I go to a normal match its all over..... HELP!!!

What res is your monitor? The 1050ti is only good for medium settings at 1080p 60hz/fps. For some lighter games like CSGO you will hit more fps. But for a lot of things the 1050ti is too weak, specially AAA games.

Also, having only 8gbs of ram will hamper some games. Games like BF V/COD MW use upwards of 8gbs of system ram at 1080p settings. Once the ram maxes out, your system will use the swap/page file/virtual mem, and this can cause major FPS drops.

144 hz monitor, I understand this but I have seen and read countless forums, posts / videos with nearly the same specs of people running 100+ frames by turning off shadows, anti-aliasing, etc. and they play multiple games while recording with nearly 0 issues in comparison to me. I can look into getting another 8 gb ram stick but my GPU should be able to do upwards of an inconsistent 60 fps???
