My laptop has a NVME PCIe 3.0 4x 256GB drive for main OS / games. I had a 1TB SSHD for a while that Id only use for media and non speed related files considering it was only 5400RPM. Anyway, games stored on the nvme drive seemed to work well enough, but the lack of space pushed me to replace the SSHD with a real SSD. So, after reinstalling windows (still on the nvme) but installing a few games onto the SSD, i noticed a great improvement, that was totally unexpected. My frame times have become stable, and my frame per second have also been increased. In my opinion, this should not be the case, and if anything the opposite, considering my NVME is much faster! Any thoughts?
One thing to mention was I did upgrade to newer firmware for the Intel Management Engine interface, although, Ive stayed on top of firmware updates in the past from the laptop manufacturer (HP, yuck, I know).
