Fps greatly reduced upon unplugging headphones from pc

Pc performs well, as expected if I plug in headphones before starting the pc, but after removing them performance diminishes.
I have all of my drivers updated.

That sounds very odd, only thing I would guess is the sound drivers are somehow causing some sort of high resource consumption upon disconnecting the headphones, have you already tried reinstalling them?

Yeah, i've tried this but im still getting the same result :/ Its not a performance thing either my fps counter will jump from 100 to 20 every half a second
