Hi All,

I'm new to the PC world and I'm looking to buy a decent spec pc, my question is, if im playing a game a 240fps do I need a 240hz monitor to fully benefit from the FPS? Or can I just buy a decent 4k monitor? Sorry if it sounds dumb, I'm not very tech savvy 🤷

Yes.
If your monitor can't handle 240Hz, it will not be able to display all the frames generated.
Other problem is - human eye can't really distinguish refresh rate that high (each person is different though). So it depends on your vision, if your eyes are able to see difference between 120Hz, 144Hz, 165Hz, 240Hz.

Yes, you can do that too.

It depends what games you play, if you play eSports orientated games such as FPS's like Overwatch, or CSGO you should invest in a 240hz/144hz monitor. A good compromise between resolution and refresh rate is picking up a 1440p 144hz monitor. It depends on your PC specs as well.
