my fps in games has dropped dramatically, in minecraft(with shaders) I usually get 110fps and now im getting 25fps I checked my temps on my cpu(i5 4690k) and my gpu(gtx 970) and they were fine, whats the problem?

update: the probelm was a virus. I just unistalled windows and than installed ubuntu, and DAMN! my fps is higher then my eyes have ever seen. Im running at the same settings that I was before except one thing is changed, I put my render distance to 32 and the fps with shaders is 150fps before the virus I got on windows I was running shaders and at 8 on the render distance and I was getting 110fps, I will install windows later but right no Im so happy that ubuntu boosted the f*** out of my fps

you probably have a virus, do a registery scan with this (http://www.lavasoft.com/products/lavasoft_registry_tuner.php?t=features) program on the left there will be a free trial

scan also with windows defender and scan like crazy with 3-4 anti virus programs and look for suspicious activity like pop ups

The only thing i can think of causing that would be a virus of some sort

also make sure your settings are the saem as they were like render distance and stuff

what shaders are you using too? I use shaders on mc too i use SEUS

Im using cuda shaders (the one optimized for Nvidia cards)

If you are checking temps while the computer isn't doing anything, this is useless. This is called idle temps. You want to check load temps. Load temps are how hot the cpu/gpu get while they are actually working.

So when checking temps were you just sitting on the desktop?
Or did you have a temp monitor open while gaming, then when the fps dropped you checked the temps?
There are programs that create load on the cpu/gpu so you can see how hot they get.

I did the cpu was at around 55C average on each core and the gpu reached a max of 47C and I checked whilst playing.

it doesn't harm your hardware it just makes your performance drop massively i hope it helps

also check you program list in the control panel and uninstall any unknown programs
