FPS issue lately / lag

Hey,

I have this issue for a month now with my laptop, I play alot of video games from WOW, WC3 and CS:S on it, and I use ventrilo alot while playing these games.

For a month now I noticed my FPS drops like mad while having ventrilo and a game running at the same time. It won't lag up instantly when I start them both up, but like after maybe 10mins in or so my game fps drops and lags up to a point it unplayable like 7 fps. I've noticed if I close vent the fps goes back up and the problem seems to be okay.

I never had this issue before, had the laptop for almost a year now.

laptop specs:
Toshiba
Windows Vista ultimate 32bit
Intel Core 2 duo T5450 @ 1.66GHZ
2gb ram
280gb HDD
ATI mobility Radeon HD 2600 256mb of d-ram

Thing is I have no clue whats wrong with my computer, didn't really install much stuff when the problem started, mostly windows updates and tried to Defrag computer while playing games lol, kind of hate vista not showing progression while defragging so had to stop it sometimes inbetween, not sure if that could have cause my problem.

Anyways any feedback would be great, I got warrenty and stuff still so I would like to get this issue cleared up so I can use vent while playing games hehe

How hot is it running?

around 63-65C while just streaming stuff and gets to like 70-73 while gaming

Interesting... might be overheating... check you amount of disk space too...

I have like 80gb free on my HDD,
after more closely looking at the temp I can get up to 77C
what is typically for a laptop?? like the Okay range hehe

Also if I wanted to tell them its a overheating problem to the toshiba...what would I tell them to do?? check the thermal paste or increase my fan ??

HDD is ok

Temps are pretty bad

You can increase your fan speed with speedfan, a free program... might work methinks.

Ask Toshy and see what they say.
