fps lag/pc lag help please!

HELP please.My pc is fairly new, built at the start of the year, I am running a i5 4590 with a gtx 970. Just recently in the past few days i have experienced fps lag across all games at random times and then that will lead to my whole pc lagging up, please help i am poor and live off my pc ahha, please help

Maybe some new drivers which cause some problems? If you updated lately maybe go back one version. It's not because your hardware lacks power it should do full HD just fine...expect when you try to go for 4k.

To exclude drivers issue:

Use this http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html
And follow instruction :
Use the official uninstaller(s) of the driver(s) you want to uninstall.
Reboot your PC in Safe Mode.
Run Driver Sweeper and select what to clean.
Analyse lists all the entries possible to remove, cleaning removes the entries selected.
Reboot to normal mode.
Install fresh drivers.

Btw what PSU you have ?
