hello,
hey guys,
i get a really big problem with my new RX 580 8gb oc in p3d v4

basically my fps goes up and down like crazy!!
here is an example of the fps goes up and down in P3Dv4

also my GPU monitor goes up and down like crazy!!

i have tried to do a complete reinstall of AMD drivers - not working.

i have tried all the tweaks and guide - not working.

please i need help, if someone know what the problem is?.

my pc:
Card name: MSI Radeon RX 580 8gb
RAM: 16GB
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
DirectX 12
Motherboard: MSI H81M PRO-VH
OS: Windows 10 64bit

Looks like a CPU bottleneck. Which game are you playing?

edit: Oops! sorry I thought the Memory bar was GPU Usage.

you shouldn't be having issues like that, what monitor do you have? your system should be able to run that seems like you settings are all jacked up. check your resolution screen scale and make sure it's not set to like 200%

Your GPU clock speeds seem rather consistent however... it's the video memory speed that was fluctuating.
Monitor your CPU performance and also what is your HDD up to during all of this behaviour. Might shed some light.
Is this at 1080p?

the game is called : Prepar3d v4.

my monitor is : aoc g2460pf with freesync
and how do i check what my resolution screen scale?

my CPU is very stable without any drops at 45% Utilization
And i have the game installed on sandisk ssd with 0% load.

It must either be a problem in the game's implementation or the driver itself.

In global wattman there is an option to set the VRAM at a constant speed instead of dynamic speed.

Just click the slider of VRAM speed adjustment, it should fix the VRAM at a constant speed. Then, run the benchmark. See if this solves your problem.

Whoa! Wait a minute, why is your rx580 show up as rx480 in the benchmark result?

the vram is already set to 2000mhz
and i dont know why it says rx 480 in benchmark. :??:

Yes you can but don't. overclocking VRAM will increase latency in your case, leave it as it is.

And it wont help you because the VRAM is actually down clocking as if it detects no GPU workload.
Usually when you start a GPU intensive program the memory clock is set to max and GPU clock becomes dynamic according to load.

I think this should be either fixed by the game devs or the driver devs.

I think it's fine as long as you dong see this in other games. If you do, then the VRAMs might be heating up.

One last try:
Reduce the VRAM speeds to 1750 and try it out.

Why is the GPU activity very irregular in BF1, are you playing in low resolution or low settings?
The GPU activity shouldn't be this less. are you alt+tab iing often?

in BF1 i play on ultra, and the fps is 60 constant.
and its really wired why the GPU activity keep fluctuating .

The fluctuating is fine. It means that the RX580 handles the targeted frame rate easily without straining.

I think its a software implementation issue in p3d v4. Its fine as long as things don't show up in mainstream games.

Your GPU is fine. Try running all the games and p3d v4 without v-sync. This will push your GPU to max out FPS.

ok thats good to hear . and in p3d v4 even with nothing happening on screen i still get frames drops
and i run all my games without v-sync
