Hi all i seem to be running into this problem day in day out im farely new to pc gaming so i hope i make sense in this problem i have here goes,i play games like D3 and WOW mainly but at times play all of the CODS.When i play WOW and D3, i play with VSync on as it stops screen tear and just seems smoother over all for most of the time my fps is locked at 60 but as soon as i run into a mob it drops to 20-15fps and the same on wow on 25 man raid, my system as far as i know should play these games with ease i play with high settings but ive also tried with low settings and get the same problem, the wierd thing is i can play games like BF3 and MDW3 all on max settings and i hardley lose a frame very smooth and a pleasure to play but unfortunatly COD and BF3 arnt the games i love to play the most, this problem is very annoying knowing my system shouldnt struggle playing WoW and D3.Here are the specs of my machine also 1 last thing id like to mention the stutter seems to be in D3 more than anything else i can be walking along and the game starts to stutter hope this all makes sense and someone can help ty.

AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition hexa core cpu @ 3.3ghz

16GB corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600 mhz memory

Palit Geforce GTX 560ti (448cores) x2 SLI

1TB Hard drive

Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard

NOCTUA NH-U12P SE2 dual fan Quiet CPU cooler

CoolerMaster Silent Pro M Power Supply

2 64gb OCZ SSD

Windows Ultimate 64

hmm, WoW does indeed require a powerful cpu but you already got one, i have AMD Phenom II x4 955 and a GTX470 and i can raid with 40~60 fps with AA off and all max out, besides D3 all maxout with 60fps (Vsync on). might also the internet connection if you got crappy one the game lags and that will make you suffer lagging and stuttering.

-install the very latest driver (301.42).

-active the new feature Adaptive Vsync in CP

-enable SLI

-make the Phyzx option on the 2nd card (just test it or leave it default)

-now in WoW disable AA

-post back

Hi again i already had the driver up to date,i have changed the vsync to wat u said enabled sli left 2nd as default where in wow is AA?

ok,

-OC the CPU, turn on the Turbo to make it to 3.7GHz, that will boost your FPS and in heavy areas like in raid, and post temps on full load

-try to disable SLI this time

-Phyzx to Auto-select

-turn Vsync to default in CP and OFF in Games

-post back with results

Hey thanks again for the replie 1 thing i forgot to mention which is important lol im fine on high settings in wow while raiding 10 man its 25 man where i struggle eve with the settings on low.I turned on the turbo your talking about it oc cpu to 3.81ghz and memory cant remember what that was to but around half hour of playing i get the blue screen of death when i switch it back to norm its fine and stable any ideas ?

aha its clear now its a lack of cpu power, 25 raids can kill my frame rates too , i can get 15fps and 10fps with my amd quad core.

that BSOD is for the instability of your cpu/rams.

-go into Run then type "msconfig" then Boot -Advanced Options then set number of processors to 6 apply.

-OC your cpu to 3.5GHz/3.6GHz without increasing Volts, dont OC your rams keep them at default.

-disable any newly Addons / prefer to disable them all.

-clear the cache which may have become corrupted by renaming the Cache, WTF and Interface folders, that will reset the game to default settings the next time you log in.

-make shadow quality Good (sometimes off), Multisampling to off/none. (my current settings)

also another thing ive noticed while trying to find where to oc cpu that the memory ive got in here is only running at 1333mhz says on box its 1600mhz lol one thing leads to another

lol, its ok, its the default clocks for dual channel.

1- Go to A1 tweaker
2- Set the "A1 tweaker" option as "manual" as well as "CPU ratio", and change from 16.5 to 18, volts at default.
3- Do the same for "memory frequency" and select 1600MHz with the default volts

Thanks for all this help its much appreciated, here where im at ive set the memory tp 1600mhz thats done.I can change the a1 tweaker to manual not a prob when i go to cpu ratio there is no option to change it to manual its just on auto all time ? sorry for been thick but this is all new to me

Hmmm i changed the memory to 1600mhz changed the ai oc tuner to summit called D.O.C.P. the cpu ratio is now 18.5 memory frequency is DDR3-1600MHz the cpu is now 3.71ghz

yeah, so i guess the 1600 force the cpu clocks to 3.7ghz, no problem, just test it and feedback with temps (use HWmonitor) on full load and stability, dont forget to do the steps i mentioned above

ok these temps are on idle, but, did that solve your problem? i mean you should give full report on your new condition so i can help you.

what am trying to say is the problem is you are suffering of fps drops in 25 men raids, and the possible problem is your cpu, WoW gamers have reported that AMD cpus can lack of performance on 25 raids, even if its 6cores.

ok am worry about your temps, on full load you could get a 90c which is not good for your cpu, if the OC did not help go in to your bios again and make AMD turbo core technology from Auto to OFF, that will make your cpu go back to the original clocks state, and make sure you still having the 1600mhz rams.

Hi again things seem a little better yes in 25man raid the temps i sent u are from half hours play time the temp ive had my cpu up to is in and around 60-66c never any higher is that ok ?

thats good! getting better on OC then the problem was the cpu, you just need a powerful cpu for that kind of raids.

the temps i sent u are from half hours play time the temp ive had my cpu up to is in and around 60-66c never any higher is that ok ?
oh thats nice!, it is ok, just try to keep it lower than 75c~80c, you can keep that OC with volts and get a better cooling system.

😀 another thing i noticed was i never had the turbo turned on i oc cpu to 3.71ghz but never turned the turbo on what u think? i should turn that on too ?

no just keep it that way, turbo will make it 3.8ghz, and get high temps. since you did the OC, try to low the volts a little bit, instead of 1.55 get it down to 1.5 or 1.48 and test the stability

i also would recommend to read articles threads about overclocking your cpu on that board you got before doing any thing that you will regret.
