Amd is going to be the more budget friendly option right now.

The FX 6300 is the minimum cpu requirement for the game. Running a game using the min requirement in one or more areas usually doesn't offer a good experience especially with a game like PUBG that has optimization issues and with most multiplayer games the bigger the maps and or the more people playing can tax it more than they may have foreseen when writing the requirements

That old FX was an ok budget option a 4-5 years ago but will get beat in most games by newer $60 2 core 4 thread Pentium and is easily outclassed by a $100 quad core Ryzen.

Put simply if you want better FPS in PUBG you need a better CPU.

Given the extremely weak VRMs(only 3 phases) on the motherboard. I doubt overclocking will be productive.

Motherboard and 6300 seem the bottlenecks. 8GB Ram seems on the low side. The 1060 is old and tired. Yep -you screwed yourself with a sidegrade. Every 600$ Ryzen2/B350 Mb/16mb/SSD would be an upgrade to what you have.

The GTX 1060 is a good gaming GPU and is current generation. Most definitely not old and tired. Also SSDs do not increase gaming performance the best they can do for gaming is reduce load times.
