fps over the amount of hz on monitor

i am by no means saying this is a problem or a bad thing at all. i'm merely wanting to know what benefits there are to getting like 200fps with a 144hz monitor.

There are none. Some games may give you a teeny tiny basically unnoticable better input lag but other than that there are no benefits.

there are no benefits other than to screenshot it and brag about it. the monitor can only show 144 fps so any more just go unused and thrown out. wasted gpu cycles really. i know many claim it somehow helps but delusional only begins to touch on those claims. your eyes won't even use the 144 fps really. so even that is wasted in a theoretical sense.

The cons on the other hand are screen tearing and a hotter running GPU.
