My FPS drops like crazy while playing games Diablo 3 the current game im playing, most of the time i sit on 10-20 FPS, and i cant find the problem, tryd reinstall windows, diffrent drivers but no luck. Its not only Diablo 3 its other games too, such as BF3 / WoW / Aion / ( Not playing any of thoes games but i had FPS problems there aswell ). And does anyone know why my Ram is running at 666 MHz and not 800? i guess that can be a part of my problem right?

What should i do guys?

I bet it's your CPU, I ran Radeon 6990 with I7-4770 and it was silky smooth in Ultra WoW and Diablo 3 capping fps at 60 with vsync. With lowest in WoW being 45 FPS in one particular outside area and some lag on the bridge in multi-player in D3, but that's it. I even had x4Q AA turned on.

That is with drivers up to 14.7 beta when I have switched it for 290X.

And why that insane fan speed? I had like 55% top at full usage, it's OK to let that card go to 85c, I ran it two and a half years no problem like that.

my temp is also a problem, some times i top 103c while playing Diablo 3. at this point while im typin this and have Alt Tap from Diablo 3 i sit at 65-70c at fan speed 85%, i have no idea why my temp is so high.

so it might be my CPU then, is there any way to fix it ( if it can be fix without buying a new one ) should i try to OC it? Not that i know how to OC anything but 😛, Can it be anything wrong with my Card? maybe its not running on both GPU should i post all info in Afterburner? When it comes to my Ram, it says it run at 666MHz should they not be running at 800 MHz or do i miss something there?

Sounds like its just getting too hot and throttling performance.

First thing would be to make sure you are maximising airflow in your case. Get rid of any dust, make sure you have plenty of intake and exhaust fans.

Second thing would be to clean out the heatsink and fan on the graphics card, and clean off the old thermal paste and apply new.

Then you should be good to go.

Holy Crap, 103c?? The highest I have seen ever on my 6990 was 92c.

You need that resolved, you should aim for about 80-85 at 55% fan.

Flip that overcloking switch back to 830Mhz, you can't handle it unlocked with those thermals.

I'll try that out! thanks :)

No problem, I recommend Arctic MX-4 as a good thermal paste for GPUs.

That wont make a diffrent sadly :c Even at 830 or 880 its the same
