[SOLVED] FPS problems on Black Ops 4..

Hey.

I played Black Ops 4 in the latest beta and everything went super smooth.
I got the game when it was released, updated my GPU drivers to the latest and played the game constantly with no problems at all.

A few weeks ago I noticed something strange going on while I was playing..
The game instantly dropped in FPS to about ~30-35 FPS. I restarted the game and it went smooth again. Then after that it has constantly dropped to the same FPS as stated. If I'm lucky I can play on around 60-70 FPS with the lowest render solution but after a while (or a few matches if im in luck) it drops to 30-35 again.

I have tried to re-install my GPU drivers and fiddle with the config.ini that some people on other forums have suggested but nothing have worked.

It doesn't matter what settings I use, eventually it will drop to 30-35 FPS.

I have tried searching for a solution everywhere but nothing will work..

My rig;

Intel Core i7-7700K
Nvidia GTX 1080-Ti
Samsung 850 Evo 500GB
Seagate Barracuda 1TB
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666 C16 2x8GB
Asus ROG Swift PG278QR 27" 165hz

If you need any more info, let me know.

Please help.. :/

My userbenchmark if that will help; https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/12106475

That's a critical observation. Very important.
I saw the userbenchmark and they looked fine so I ignored that your CPU might be overheating.

And I also saw that your RAM is also severely under-performing but not to a limit where it might severely affect your GPU performance.
But something is wrong with your PC.
Actions:
1) Enable XMP profile for RAM in BIOS.
2) Check for CPU temps while gaming...

the GPU temps is around 60-70 celsius.

Easiest way to check GPU fans? Just open the case and see while I run the game?

The temps looks normal.

It could be something simple as a driver issue.

Download DDU, a software which cleanly uninstalls old drivers. Then reinstall the drivers(preferable newer ones).
This should solve your problem if it was just a driver issue in the first place.

What PSU are you using?

Brand is unclear but it's a 650W (650W 80+ Gold).

I've tried the DDU thing but that was with the last update for nvidia so I might try that again..I'll be back with info.

A 650W 80+ gold PSU should do the job just right, I thought PSU might be a problem.

Nothing, I was just saying that you should install the newest driver if you had older drivers installed.

Did you try the card in any other PC?

No i had the newest drivers. But used DDU now and downloaded the latest driver from nvidia and tried CoD. I've played around 7-8 games now, highest settings with around 90-110 fps. Now the game I had 2 min ago it dipped down to 30 again and I alt-tabbed a few times then it went back up to around 70 then 90-100 again. I noticed on MSI afterburner that the gpu usage % went from 100% and dipped 3 times down to 30% while playing

And I noticed in the main menu after the last game i had 15 fps instead of the normal 60..

By "Game" you mean session, right?

I went through your userbenchmark results, in all cases the GPU seems to be under-performing.
It is also not consistently performing bad but its haphazard. could be a different issue altogether

Your temps are fine, nothing seems to raise a red flag except the monitor and Gsync.
Can you disable Nvidia G-Sync and try again (It's in Nvidia control panel).
Disable all forms of synchronization and let the GPU run at its max capability.

Yeah.

So I tried some Blackout (Battle royal) on CoD. Turning off the G-sync etc makes no difference. At first I had 30fps, then I alt-tabbed a few times then I got around 70-80fps...this is so annoying.

I started up MSI Afterburner and checked it out. There's something called Fan Speed%. Is that the fan for the GPU or CPU or the fans on the case?

It's the fan speed of GPU.

Ok. theres a feature in MSI afterburner to show ingame parameters. Rivatuner statistics, get that thing running. add all parameters for OSD monitoring and post it in youtube.

You problem should either be because of temperature throttling because of set temps or because of software.

Okay, the fan speed of the GPU doesn't go over 15%, is that normal?

Okay, I'll try that out

https://youtu.be/0A2Whgr83aE does this help? let me know if it won't

I tried some more games now. Last night I played Hitman 2 and had barely any problems. Played on HIGH settings with around 80-90 fps all the time. A few dips down to 30 for a few seconds then back up to 80-90. But on BF:V I have 15 fps on HIGH settings and on the lowest settings I have 25...

Im going to turn in the computer where i got it so they can take a look at it.

I noticed that during the drops the CPU % went down too.

3) Try out your GPU in other system if possible.
