Question Fps struggle on decent rig

Hi all, im not a tech genius here so be gentle. I recently got into rust and enjoy playing a lot. I have a decent pc (gtx 1080 ti, ryzen 5 1600, 16 gb ram, MSI B350 PC MATE ATX AM4 Motherboard, 500 gb ssd drive) but it seems to struggle playing rust. I am lucky if i reach 60 fps where as i see people with inferior pc's reach up in the 90s-100s. Certainly there is something wrong. All my drivers are up to date, I have watched countless videos and followed all their guides, and I am thinking about investing in an upgrade of a cpu. Is my problem cpu wise or is their a problem within my pc. Another thing to add is that i built it my self and it was my first build. Thank you and all help is appreciated.

At 1080p, you seem to be performing right where you should be, regardless of other graphics settings. Where are you seeing inferior builds getting 100+ fps?

What's the speed of the ram?

It could also be the game is not well optimized.
