If I'm using a 4K monitor will my frame rate be reduced even if I'm running the Benchmark at 1440 or 1080? Also does Full screen have an effect on the benchmark?
because FRAPS (or whatever your fps monitor is) is tracking the active window only. So when you hold a window, and move it, you just told fraps that movement was the FPS. It isn't breaking the system, you're changing it's focus.
No. The scaler on your graphics card operates independent of the render. Full Screen is different. Windowed gaming does hurt the FPS, but not by much. However, it depends on if you're running background processes while running the benchmark.

This is correct, also useful with game detail settings and getting the best picture quality out of your setup. For example which is better playing GTA v at 4k with medium detail settings, or 1080 and detail maxed out. In my test 1080 maxed was better. Windows scales, you graphic drivers scale, your tv can scale, and the program your running can scale, so it can be a problem to figure out where to make adjustments.

Ok I just discovered something interesting. If I run the program in windows without moving any of the windows around on the screen I will get 60 FPS. As soon as I drag another window around my FPS goes up to 231 @ 2560/1440. I just discovered this and don't have a clue as to why.
