Just popped it in and what a difference...ATI has it as a trade up offer so
net cost will be $169, shipping free...

Gonna crank it up tomorrow but first impressions are stunning ...

thanks

Bill,

Who is the board maker - Saphire, Abit, ATI, ...??

The video chip alone doesn't assure a 'perfect' board - but you know
that ;-)

Same as Fr Bill. I got the ATI X700 pro pci express. Did some more flights
yesterday and it really is very good.

Bill & Bill,

Thanks for the feedback - reviews look promising.

Virtually silent, especially when compared to the temperature controlled,
ducted and turbocharged fan on my CPU! 😉

Hmmm ... I don't know what to make of that ;-))

If you compare it to something that sounds like a 747 at take-off
power from 100 ft away, then 'virtually silent' may be an
understatement :-((

Just kidding - thanks for the feedback.
One of these days I'll invest in water cooling ...
