Hey, i just bought the Fractal Define R5 Case, and i am now aware that it has a little built in fan controller above the optical bays, i think it only has like 3 settings and you slide it to what you want. I was just wondering, should i use it? or should i stick to plugging the fans into the motherboard and controlling them using software/in the BIOS? If anyone has the case and uses it, is it any good? or just anyone with good knowledge, help me out

Thanks in advance

i would plug the case fans into the fan controller. i believe it is 12v, 7v, and 5v. are you just using the two 140mm fans it came with? or are you adding more fans? i would think all one should need is one extra 140mm fractal fan on the side panel for the gpu bringing the total to three and providing more positive pressure. i would think definitely plug the cpu cooler into the motherboard though.

Thanks for your reply! I am planning on using the 2 pre-installed fans that came with the case then adding a 240mm radiator in the top of the case

240mm radiator... an aio or a custom loop? if its an aio you would probably want to use the motherboard headers if you are using software to control pump speed and fans through software. otherwise if its a custom loop then i would toy around with it all until i was happy with the noise vs performance.
