Fractal Define R5: SATA-Cable length

Hey!

I`m planning on upgrading to Fractal Define R5, and wondering what length Sata-cables i should use...

I would remove the optical-drive bay, and install the hard drive cages at the top. (2x HDD)- How long cable should i buy? 0,5m-0,75m??

For the SSD´s (x2), I would install them to the back, in the "stealth" mounts. Cable length for this? 0.3m??


I suppose too long cables won`t be a huge problem, but i don't want to end up with too short/ way too long cables...

I've not build in the R5, but in previous models, I've had no issues with using the SATA cables supplied with regular retail boxed hard drives or with my motherboards. In fact, I've just used some of the many cables I've accumulated over time. Pull then through to the back, behind the backplate, tie them into little bundles and hook them to the backplate with a cable tie.

As an aside, there shouldn't be any need to move your HDDs way up there where they won't get any airflow.

I'd mount both the HDDs and the SSDs in the regular spaces, if you need space for a large GPU, remove one of the drive cages. That should be sufficient. It always is for me.
