Fractal design core 500 fits a 42mm wide gpu?

Fractal core 500 case fits a cx650m power supply and msi rx 480 gaming x? I have a B85n Phoenix mobo. I know that in length it fits, but what about width? Would it fit?

Yeah it will fit!
Your PSU length does not exceed 170mm and hence your case can accommodate 310mm card length. Your graphics card has length 274mm, so it will fit in the case easily!

Yeah, length wise I know it would fit but I was wondering if it would be too thick for the case, I asked fractal design tech support and they said it would probably fit but would hit the motherboard and they only recommend 39mm wide cards. I've seen builds around the Internet in which they use dual slot cards such as the msi gtx 1070 gaming x but I've not been able to find how wide it is or if it hoti the motherboard or not.
