I want to know what would be best for watercooling, not caring about price. Thanks

Ignore PSU

Solution

Z87 is definitely outdated. You can definitely reuse that CPU but be sure to get a Z97 board with M2 SSD support, M2 SSDs like the Samsung 950 Pro are a huge improvement over current drives.

Yeah that PSU is great, I have the 850W G2 and it's given me zero issues.
You don't need such an expensive motherboard. Why only 240GiB storage, and why A-Data instead of Samsung? Why such an expensive case? More expensive doesn't necessarily mean the best. Your power supply is also horrible quality. If there's anything you should spend the most $$ on apart from CPU and GPU, it's the power supply. This is what I'd do. Oh, and by the way, don't get a reference GTX 1080. The cooler is terrible and it throttles. Aftermarket GPUs, even if you're fitting a water block, will be cheaper.

I have little idea about watercooling components so I left everything as is. I trust that everything you listed is compatible and is of sufficient quality.

Thank you for your reply, but if you will look at this list, its my current PC.

I will be carrying over those storage units.
Everything else is going to my uncle, who is funding this build.
I have in mind the idea to crossfire the RX 480's. I dont know what I would use the 1080 for, but it would be a cool feature to my build. I also would like to know what aftermarket is? Im pretty sure its like a evga or msi or any other model. If so I have had my eye on the evga one. I have a WiFi adapter already. I have some extra cash, why not get a nice asus mobo? I see your prospective on the case, and my friend recommended this to me the other night. I have also seen many reasons on how InWin skimped on core things a case needs but they make up for it in beauty. I would like more of your opinion of the Fractal case please. Thanks for your time.

I'd get a 1080 with a custom water block over the new R9s personally. Also have you thought about going with the new Broadwell-E CPUs? You can still use that SSD you have in the new build as a scratch drive, I personally wouldn't use it as a primary. Asus is no longer the best motherboard manufacturer. They used to be, but Asrock and MSI also make solid boards as well.

The Air will accommodate just about any cooling solution you can throw at it, and will house larger radiators for liquid cooling than a Define S will.

Thanks, I was thinking about the Asus SABERTOOTH instead of that because its more color neutral. I have a 4790k i7 on me already bought right now, and am thinking about trying to go with a z87 mobo (asus sabertooth) but I think that will be outdated, and can only use ddr3. Is that worth it? I will definitly use your PSU pick there. Nice and cheap for lots of watts.

How does the z97 Sabertooth Mark 2 sound? I will for sure reuse it. How many years in the future do you think I will need to upgrade this build? Also, do you know if the mobo I choose can use ddr4?
