Hey guys, i am currently working on building a dream machine for my uncle. we have picked the parts we want (6600 & 980ti msi sea hawk) due to the cases lack of room for anything other than one 120mm rad we're looking for air coolers that will fit. I've been trying to find anyone who knows the height from the CPU to the top panel. ive looked at coolers such as a the Dark rock TF (http://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/572) and the noctua NH-C14S (http://noctua.at/en/nh-c14s.html) but looking at it i'm not 100% sure they will fit. its highly unlikely the Dark rock will fit but the noctua may fit with the fan under the heatsink. it's an expensive build and i just want to double check everything. thanks for any help :)

If you're looking for low profile coolers it doesn't get any better than the Cryorig C1 cooler if you'd like some headroom to keep things cool and also if you'd like to go for an overclock while you're at it.

Now based off the product specification page,[quoteCPU cooler compatibility: Approx 125mm with side-mounted fans - For coolers with top-mounted fans, Fractal Design recommends that you add at least 30 mm clearance for decent airflow[/quote] while the case stands tall at 167mm the tallest heat sink you should look into should be 120~130mm if you were to leave 30mm for airflow considerations then that number is even lower.

This guy went crazy and went underwater.

The Noctua NH-C14S could fit with...

The Noctua NH-C14S could fit with both fans but you're not going by Fractal's advice and may encounter turbulent/noise inside the chassis as it fights to pull air and cool itself at the same time. The Dark Rock Top Flow will actually conform to Fractal's advice - so you can't miss with that and you get more headroom cooling wise if you can get two fans attached onto the heatsink and not face ram height clearance issues. If the ram modules do cause an issue you can remove the lower fan though that brings it on the same page as the Cryorig C1 albeit at a higher price point.
