So I've just put together my new PC and I'm using the Fractal Design R4. Everything is working perfectly except for the front headphone jack. Whenever I plug it in, I can hear a static sound and the sound is distorted.

I tried all the obvious fixes such as driver updates, removing HD Audio cable and re-attaching it, re-routing cables, changing audio default devices etc and still no luck. The static and muffled sound is also happening when I plug in different sets of headphones. There is no issue with the back panel headphone jack.

I've done a little research and haven't found any other fixes and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or fixes.

PC SETUP
CPU - Intel i5 4690K
GPU - EVGA GTX 970 OC Edition
MOBO - ASrock z97 Fatal1ty Killer
RAM - 16BG Kingston HyperFuryX
PSU - 750W EVGA SuperNOVA
Case - Fractal Design Define R4

Thanks in advance
(PS sorry about the format if its an issue, first time poster)

Solution
Very hard, nigh impossible in my experience. This would require case modding (replacing the entire cable with EMI shielded type). Not sure if that thing exists, since I have never been bothered enough to try - usually my solution was to use only the rear port and be done with it 😉
